While standard pigging tools may be suitable for a range of pigging operations and these are readily available from Pipeline Engineering; for more complex requirements we design, develop and test specialist pigging tools. This is often a requirement for operations in complex and demanding pipelines, where our design and service engineers, work closely with clients to design and engineer the best fit pigging solution.
At Pipeline Engineering we recognise that where specialist pigging is required, additional support is also often necessary and our team of Engineers and Project Managers are able to manage pigging campaign for our clients.
Specialist Pigging Tools which we routinely design as well as manage during pigging campaigns includes:
- Bi-directional and Uni-directional pigs
- Special requirement cleaning pigs
- De-waxing pigs
- Jetting pigs
- Gauge pigs
- High friction pigs
- Dual-module articulated pigs
- Multi-diameter pigs
- Low pressure isolation pigs
- Welding pigs
- Caliper pigs
- Low flow pigs
Pipeline Engineering fully understands the importance of products being able to perform to exacting standards in-situ, this is particularly the case with specialist pigs, which once inserted into a pipeline, needs to be able to navigate the pipeline without getting stuck, carry out the required process and be retrieved from the pipeline at a pig receiver.
With our Project Management capability we will evaluate all options and then design what we consider to be the best solution. It is important however to make sure that once actually manufactured, the utility pig will perform without issues. We therefore very often will produce a prototype pig which we will trial in a test loop which simulates the actual pipeline and conditions where it will be used.
This prototyping phase also gives us the opportunity to make any required modifications to the design and only when we are confident that the pig is performing as expected will actual pigs be approved for manufacture.
This individual and thorough approach to clients specific requirements sets pipeline Engineering apart from many other companies and give clients the assurance that they are not only getting a pig to perform a task, but the best pig available for them.
