The 2200 Series commonly known as the Jaguar Series is a positive displacement pump capable of handling viscosities to 150,000,000 ssu. Basically, the pump is made up of two sets of opposed screws. Each set of screws conveys liquid toward the center of the pump where the discharge port is located. Since hydraulic forces are opposite and equal, the rotor is hydraulically balanced in an axial direction.

Body – Body passages are designed to eliminate dead spaces and to prevent liquid stagnation. Direct flow path from suction opening to entrance of pumping screws has a constant area. Result: Uniform velocity changes for lower entrance friction losses, higher suction lift capabilities and better NPSH characteristics.
Rugged Integral Screw/Shafts – Screws and shafts are machined from one piece of metal. Rugged integral screw/shafts with larger shaft diameter result in less deflection, closer clearances for alloy construction and larger bearing diameter for longer rotating element life.
Herringbone Heat Treated Timing Gears – Timing gears are used to prevent metal to metal contact between the meshed rotating screws. They are oil lubricated and are located externally to the liquid being pumped. These gears use herringbone teeth of heat treated steel with tooth profile designed for efficient, quiet, positive drive. The tight clearance between the pumping screws results in longer pump life and higher efficiencies over the life of the pump. The screw clearance also provides a built-in ability to pump non-lubricating liquids or oils, tars and asphalts with impurities. No need to rely on liquid film strength in a Warren screw pump.
Hopper Style Top Suction Inlet – This inlet design allows the pump to be mounted directly beneath a vessel. The large suction opening and large internal passages reduce the wall friction and lower the NPIPR. The flow is split and directed to both ends of the pump body. The screws pump the fluid from both ends to the middle side discharge. This results in a hydraulic balance that eliminates shaft end thrust.
Extended Screws – The screws can be extended beyond the body bores, into the suction passage to improve the NPIPR. This auger type action actively fills the pumping screws, resulting in uniform product flow.
Hard Surfacing - The outside diameter of the pumping screws can be furnished with hard coatings including colmonoy, chrome oxide and alumina oxide. Pump casing bores can be lined with industrial hard chrome. The coated screws and lined casing bores provide abrasion resistance and reduce galling in stainless steel pumps.
Center Suction Top Inlet – This inlet design has the lowest NPIPR. The pump can be mounted directly beneath a vessel. The fluid flows into the large suction flange and directly onto the pumping screws. Internal wall friction losses are nearly eliminated by this short, wide entrance. The pumping screws move the fluid from the center to each end of the body where the flow follows internal passages and is combined at the side discharge. This results in a hydraulic balance that eliminates shaft end thrust. The stuffing boxes are subject to discharge pressure.
For products that must be pumped from an evacuated vessel and cannot tolerate any exposure to air, this design ensures an air free product even when the stuffing boxes are selected.
Stuffing Boxes – Stuffing boxes are under suction pressure only. Drilled and tapped for lantern ring connections. Designed to accommodate standard mechanical seals as options.
Cooled Bearings - Bearing cooling provisions are available for high horsepower or high ambient temperature conditions.
Bearing Brackets – Newly designed box type for higher strength in both X and Y planes. Added strength means greater torsional load carrying capability. Larger openings to stuffing boxes for easier re-packing.
Jacketed Brackets – Bearing brackets jacketed at the stuffing box are available to protect seals or packing at temperatures above 350 °F as necessary.
Lubrication – The timing gears and bearings of the pump are oil-bath lubricated. The only parts in contact with the liquid pumped are the pumping screws, the body and the stuffing boxes.
Lantern Rings – Split Teflon lantern rings are available for high suction lift applications.
Airborne Noise – All screw pumps are inherently quiet. But Warren 2200 Screw Pumps have been further designed for airborne noise levels well below generally accepted industrial standards. Conformance to specific industrial, state or local standards can be verified in our noise test laboratory.
