Ensuring Safe Landings for Our Military Personnel
CIRCOR Aerospace, Inc. (CAI) manufactures and assembles the entire landing gear assembly and key components on the hydraulic system for the CH-47 from our Corona, California facility. Company-wide Lean initiatives allowed Circor Aerospace to be competitive and still offer superior experience and capability, as well as improvements and efficiencies. Circor Aerospace competed for the ship set bid, along with 3 other major competitors, and won.
Circor partners with two customers on this platform: Boeing IDS and the U.S. Army. While being competitive for Boeing, Circor Aerospace also was aligned with Army departmental goals: operational capability, safety, technological superiority and cost efficiency to the cargo helicopter fleet. These manufacturing initiatives optimize higher reliability and heighten the manufacturability of the landing gear system.
We know the Army is committed to providing an outstanding CH-47 Chinook aircraft to our soldiers in the field. It ensures that our soldiers will continue to hold a technological advantage over our adversaries on heavy-lift missions. It increases the chances of a successful mission and a safe return home.
